CARES ACT INFORMATION
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides funding for individual institutions of higher education to award emergency grants to students. These grants are intended to support students most impacted during the disruption caused by the coronavirus.
Winston Salem Barber School has a clear set of guidelines to distribute CARES money effectively, and equitably. This is to help our students stay enrolled at Winston Salem Barber School, to help with financial impacts from COVID-19, and continue their Road To 1528.
Students must meet the following minimum criteria to be eligible for a CARES Emergency Grant:
1. Enrolled in WSBS as of 4/1/20 and is active or graduated
2. Have completed your 20-21 Award Year for FAFSA, www.fafsa.ed.gov and school code is 030095
3. Fill out WSBS CARES ACT Application
Details:
All active students will receive 3 equitable grant payments as long above requirements are fulfilled.
Payment 1 by 8/31/20
Payment 2 by 9/30/20
Payment 3 by 10/31/20
If you graduated from 4/1/20 to when school opens on 8/18/20 you will receive 1 equitable payment.
